Quarterback Matt Scott completed 28 of 41 passes for 320 yards with two scores and the Arizona Wildcats stunned No.18 Oklahoma State Cowboys Saturday at Arizona Stadium.
The Wildcats showed they won't be a pushover in the highly-competitive Pac-12 this season after coming through with an impressive win against the Cowboys.
Scott once again orchestrated the Wildcats offense to perfection, finding open wideouts with ease and bravely taking the ball into the heart of the defense in some situations.
Aside from his prolific passing stats, Scott also ran for 55 yards on 19 receptions with one TD. Cowboys quarterback Wes Lunt fired two of his four touchdown passes in the first quarter to ignite the Cowboys to a 14-0 start.
However, Scott and the Wildcats responded big time as they racked up 30 unanswered points.
Behind a 9-yard TD catch by Tracy Moore and a 10-yard TD run by Jeremy Smith, the Cowboys cut the deficit by two points, 30-28, in the third quarter.
But the Wildcats keep coming as Jonathan McKnight scored on a 48-yard interception return and running back Ka'Deem Carey scored two rushing TD in the fourth quarter to put the icing on the cake for Arizona.
Lunt threw 37-for-60 for 436 yard with four touchdowns and three interceptions for the Cowboys, who are expected to fall out of the Top-25 rankings.
Arizona improved its season slate to 2-0 and takes on South Carolina State.
