Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson has not been cleared to play and will not see action against No. 1 Alabama Saturday after suffering a head injury last week according to multiple reports.

A source told Arkansas sports radio show host Bo Mattingly that Wilson will not play against the top-ranked Crimson Tide.

Another source confirmed to ESPN.com that Wilson will be sidelined as he has not yet fully recovered from the head injury he suffered during the team's 34-31 overtime loss to Louisiana-Monroe.

Razorbacks' coach John Smith, however, put Wilson's status as game-time decision after being listed as questionable all week.

"There will be no further update on Tyler Wilson's status today," Smith said in a statement Friday.

If Wilson will not play, Smith will choose between redshirt freshman Brandon Allen or junior Brandon Mitchell against the tough Crimson Tide defense that pounded Michigan's Denard Robinson in their 41-14 win.

Mitchell, who was turned into a receiver this season, has started honing his quarterback skills after Allen struggled when he took over for Wilson against Louisiana-Monroe.

Wilson became the first Razorback in school history to be named first-team All-SEC quarterback after throwing 277-of-438 for 3,638 yards and 24 touchdowns with six interceptions last year.

Aside from being just the second Razorback in school history to pass for 3,000 yards in a season, Wilson is the 10th 4,000-yard passer in school history and ranks sixth in career touchdown passes, sixth in career pass completions and ninth in career pass attempts.

He holds nine school records, including career completion percentage, and has produced three of the top five single-game completions marks in school history.
