London, England

Frank Lampard and Eden Hazard scored in each half to carry Chelsea to a 2-0 Premier League victory over West Ham United Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

The win vaulted Rafa Benitez's side to third place with 55 points after Tottenham Hotspur lost at home to Fulham, 1-0.

On his 595th Chelsea appearance, Lampard scored his 200th goal after he headed in Eden Hazard's 19-minute cross to move to within two of Bobby Tambling's club scoring record of 202 goals. Chelsea then went two goals ahead when Hazard scored in the 50th minute.

"It was a good game, a great result. Frank scored his 200th, the team is third so it's a great week and a good moment for us. It is a long race, we have to carry on and win our next game and see what others do," Benitez said after the win.

Chelsea could have scored more but striker Demba Ba missed several chances in the first half.

"We have to be a little disappointed because we could have finished it earlier. Demba Ba is a great finisher and today it was not his day," Benitez added.

Meanwhile, former Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov scored in the 52nd minute to carry Fulham to a 1-0 upset win over Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

Berbatov, who scored 46 goals in two seasons at Tottenham, kick flew past Hugo Lloris to give the Cottagers their first win at White Hart Lane in 10 years.

It was also Martin Jol's first victory at Tottenham since he was dismissed by the club in 2007 after two top-five finishes.

In other games, Wigan Athletic boosted its prospects of avoiding relegation with a 2-1 triumph against Newcastle United while Sunderland and Norwich City settled to a 1-1 draw.
